Impact investing, the act of investing in companies, organizations, and mutual funds with the intent of bettering social and environmental impact while gaining a financial return, continues to gain popularity.

As the investment style continues to grow and gain marketshare, experts believe it may be reaching a tipping point. 

What was once viewed as a smaller investment style more appropriate for "hippies" it has now become mainstream. Larger investment advisors like Bank of America/Merrill Lynch have begun to offer impact investment products and larger firms, like BlackRock, Bain Capital an TPG Capital have begun to offer impact investment funds.
