#1: KEEP IT SIMPLE:

Stick to high-level explanations that non-industry individuals can understand.

 

#2: AVOID JARGON:

Avoid industry jargon and acronyms. Keep your interview “user-friendly”

#3: DON’T TELL, SELL (or maybe a combo)

Tell your audience - educate them about your firm and products. Build your brand and get your name out there but don't get lost in your facts.

Sell to your audience - get your story out there, persuade and attract investors. How will your product help them? How will they benefit? 

 

#4: BRIDGE TO YOUR MESSAGES

No matter what you’re asked, practice using keywords and phrases to bridge back to your messages

#5: REMEMBER YOUR ABC’s

A – Answer, acknowledge, don’t avoid      

B – Bridging technique within 10 seconds 

C – Core message

D – Deliver full name of fund

E – Express the interviewer’s full name

F – Finish within 30 seconds
