2020 has been the most unusual year many Americans have lived through, and frankly, it's been tough. In spite of the chaos, it is still possible to be thankful for the good things.

Thanksgiving day typically means large gatherings of families and/or friends dining together. Like everything else in 2020 - things look quite different for most this year. Many Americans are staying home and celebrating with those they live with, while some are visiting with a few family members or dining outdoors.

Let's talk turkey

The Thanksgiving feast is often the largest meal most will eat all year and it's filled with variety - it's almost like a buffet! The numbers for the day are incredible!

Approximately 46 million turkeys are cooked for Thanksgiving each year

50 million pumpkin pies are eaten on Thanksgiving

Only 88% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving

The average Thanksgiving diner could feasibly consume over 3,000 calories and over 220 grams of fat during that single dinner

8 out of 10 Americans prefer Thanksgiving leftovers to the meal itself

When it comes to the meal itself - there is something for everyone! The average Thanksgiving dinner table is a veritable smorgasbord.
